Bioactive Materials Lab
We develop biochemically and mechanically tunable soft materials for applications in tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery, and microphysiological systems to study tissue and disease development. Our goal is to design adaptive, cell-instructive materials that can replicate biological environments in order to drive discovery & create new technologies for modern medicine.
Our lab is part of the lively community within the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Virginia, working together to solve important, emerging challenges in medicine, energy, environmental science and more.
